About the Author

Bruce Matthews is a fourteen-time Pro Bowler, holder of the all-time consecutive starts record for offensive linemen, and inductee in the NFL Hall of Fame. He was named to the NFL Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Time Team. Following his retirement, Matthews began hosting golf tournaments for the Greater Houston Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Texas Special Olympics. He lives in Sugar Land, Texas, with his wife, Carrie, and their seven children. He is the author of Inside the NFL’s First Family.James Lund is an award-winning collaborator, editor, and author who enjoys helping people develop their voice and message. He is a publishing veteran who has worked with bestselling authors, public figures, and leaders including Max Lucado, George Foreman, Tim Brown, Kathy Ireland, Jim Caviezel, and others. Three of his projects have earned the ECPA Gold Medallion Award. A well-done autobiographical look at a true great of the NFL. The title and cover led me to believe that I would get to hear about all the NFL Matthews. Only Bruce is covered in detail, but that in itself is worth the read.

I bought this book to become acquainted with Bruce's story before he speaks at a Men's Event at our church next month! WOW! What a great, honest and "no holds barred" story. His honesty is inspiring and challenging. I am thrilled that our men will have the opportunity to hear him. A man of faith who is faithful to his family!

This book is full of spiritual lessons. Family stories. Reads easy. I appreciate his honest and was moved by his loyalty to his family.

A quiet hero continues in the same mold. I bought to share with my adult sons, and have thoroughly enjoyed the read.

Remarkable role model, a must read!

This book was bought by my husband. He reads biographies of all athletes. He enjoyed this book very much.

Once I started it I couldn't put it down. A great statement of faith without being preachy. Well written and enjoyable.
