I bought this as a present for my father, who has a 12 year old grandson. Based on the description, I was under the impression it was more of a daily journal with prompts that my father could fill in about his life, and about his grandsons life. It is actually more like a "First Three Years" baby book for a grandparent. It is a place to record first words, and reactions to trying new foods, and new experiences...not something for a grandparent of a 12 year old. With that said, I am passing it on to friends that just became first time grandparents, and I'm sure they will love it!

I pre-ordered this and was so excited to have a Christmas gift for my hard to buy for Mom. Upon arrival I immediately returned it though. I had thought the book was going to be more geared toward my Mom recording moments/memories of her life. Instead it is written for a grandparent to record memories if their grandchild (first word, first food, etc). It is also unfortunately geared towards just one grandchild. My Mom has 8 grandkids, and this book just wouldn't work.

I got this for my daughter to give to my mom. My mother is a very busy woman who forgets to stop and smell the roses. The idea is that Nana will fill it up and give back to her grandaughter when she is older. Its a great time capsule.

I did not realize that this was a Q&A for just one grandchild. I have 8 so it is very difficult to answer most of the questions about all 8 of them. I would not buy this again.

This cute little Q & A a day books is written with the grandparent in mind. Nicely bound with beautiful paper, this journal has just the right amount of space for writing without being too overwhelming. The size is perfect for on the go, and the book is of such quality that it should last for years to come.There was one thing that disappointment me about this journal though. And it was a big one. Looking at the prompts, it wasn't what I had expected. Instead of being a memory keeper of the grandparents' life, each prompt was directed toward the grandparent in relation to the grandchild. Prompts included such things as:To whom do you show off photos of your grandchild?What does your grandchild do that always makes you laugh?How do you celebrate your grandchild's birthday?What does your grandchild's winter coat look like?This was not at all what I was expecting. While a few questions like these are fine, it was every question in the book. I'd much rather have questions geared toward who the grandparent is as an individual. The journal quality was beautiful, the size was perfect, and it's a cute little gift book. But with the writing prompts in mind, I would continue to look for a replacement of this product.*Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

When I first saw the book "Q&L a Day for Grandparents", I thought it would be one of the usual fill in the blank books that asked specific questions about my life, generally before I became a grandparent. While it does ask some of those questions, this book has a more interesting approach.The creators of this book have small spaces for each day that allow you to respond to a question every day. For three years. It's not just something you do once and you're done. And it's not all about the grandparent. Some of the questions include: "What have you taught your grandchild lately?" and "What is your dream for yourself as a grandparent?". There are questions about how your grandchild is growing, interactive areas, and even some about your own child - your grandchild's parent.I love this idea, and it will be great to be able to complete this for my grandchild. And I have three - so I'm thinking that I may have to get two more books!This is a great way to journal (with prompts) through the wonderful life it is being a grandparent and leave a wonderful, personal gift for your grandchildren.I'm grateful to have received this book from Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest, unbiased review, and am pleased to give it a thumbs up!
