I agree with most of the Reviews above... there is definitely NOT enough detailed information. I purchased a class set (Yes LAUSD does not believe that schools should pay for an atlas even if its a geography class....) but i digress. Was NOT happy with purchase, not fit for teaching, but maybe for individual use...........maybe.

Bought this for my 88 year old mom, who has been using an atlas published in 1966 and wanted one more, ahem, up to date. This isn't the best atlas out there but it's perfect for easy quick reference.

I felt this was well priced but was surprised there is no true cover. Even if not hardbacked a more durable cover would be more in line with what I would expect from National Geographical. Content wise nicely laid out and good visuals.

It will help me with geographical crossword clues as I planned since it has several different maps of each continent--physical, political, etc. Short introduction describes each continent, but states, provinces, countries, etc. within continents are not described.

If you are looking for information about the continents, you will find this atlas very useful, as it has several maps of each continent displaying different information. If you are looking for individual country maps you will not find them in this atlas.

This a great little tool for any student or wanderer or person just interested in knowing something of the world. It isn't the most comprehensive atlas, but it's not designed to be. It's easily transportable in a briefcase or some such. I use it with an overhead projector in my world politics class. I really have no complaints. Thus far, it fits the needs for which it was purchased.

this book is PHENOMENAL! I teach third grade, the kids all want to read this book all the time. My children from families abroad, domestic, wherever! it is a great teaching tool for non-fiction and text features, as well as a vocabulary builder. the colors and comprehensive content make it really interesting to leaf through as well.
